Reichsgraf von Kesselstatt - The Cru Scharzhofberger is located in a side valley of the river Saar. It is probably his most famous vineyard and climatically cooler, it is also included in the classification Erste Lage (best vineyards).
With 6.6 hectares, Reichsgraf von Kesselstatt is among the largest owners of this Cru. The vineyard Scharzhofberger has a gradient of 35-60% and is exposed to the south. The soil consists of loess and is rich in stones and slates (up to 70%).

The wines that are born in the Cru Scharzhofberger are distinguished by the deep mineral notes and savory and refined elegance. Even the older wines continue to show an extraordinary abundance of ripe fruit. This aging potential and vitality are the basis of the legendary reputation of Cru Scharzhofberger worldwide.

The wine: rich aromas of ripe yellow fruit such as prunes and peaches, but also shades of range peel and flint. Round and harmonious on the palate, good balance and excellent persistence.
